In the fall of 2010, 30 11th and 12th CCP students of Hispanic heritage attended the annual National Hispanic College Fair at the University of Maryland University College, Shady Grove. The purpose of the fair was to expose Hispanic students to higher education institutions and vocational training programs. The students had the opportunity to tour the campus, speak with admissions counselors, and spend time with a number of currently enrolled students. After the event, a number of CCP participants commented that they had narrowed down their college selections.
The students LEARNED that… A number of local and national colleges and trade schools are actively recruiting Hispanic students, so they now have many more educational options to consider.
