In November 2012, over 30 CCP students in 11th and 12th grades participated in a college campus tour of Towson and Morgan State Universities. During the field trip, students had the opportunity to speak with admissions officers to learn about the requirements for gaining admittance into the universities. Students also met current college students (including CCP Stars Alumni), who helped them gain insight into the college experience. The students then participated in extensive tours of each campus, and were able to see the campuses’ college dorm rooms, lecture halls, libraries, student unions, and cafeterias.
The students learned a lot from the experience, and gained insight into both the college application process and the experience of attending a university. Following the tour, a number of students applied to, and subsequently received admittance, to both institutions.
